Aromatherapy In the Workplace
Minor illnesses such as coughs and colds were the most common reason for sickness absence in 2016, closely followed by musculoskeletal problems, including back and neck pain and then lastly stress, depression, anxiety. So before you grab that comforting box of chocolates, or those traditional artisan biscuits grab an Essential Oil and give the gift of wellbeing. In a world where self care is the new healthcare we invite you to indulge in some easy DIY Aromatherapy in the place where we spend most of our time… work.
Citrus oils are renowned for their uplifting properties, they are fresh and allow you to find mental clarity. Add a few drops of our Revive Room Fragrance to a traditional oil burner or our Room Fragrancer to create a great aromatic environment to kick start your day. The Bergamot and Grapefruit will uplift the spirits and Frankincense will help you focus on the day ahead making it a great oil for the boardroom.
Colds and Flus
Pine and Eucalyptus are great decongestants for blocked noses and allergy sufferers. As well as helping with the symptoms it’s also a great way to boost your immune system helping keep those colds at bay should they be making their way round the office. Our Support Breath Essence is great in a burner or on a tissue, keep inhaling throughout the day if you suffer from seasonal allergies too.
To help you focus apply 2 -3 drops of our De-Stress Frankincense on a tissue and inhale 3 deep breaths from it. This magnificent essential oil helps relax the diaphragm, allowing you to breathe deeper, meaning more oxygen to the brain and a sharper you. Find time for yourself to find mental clarity before your presentation in a quiet spot in the office.
Bad posture at desks always leads to aches and pains. Regular massage is the number one go to for this, however when you haven’t got a great urban spa around the corner from the office keep a De-Stress Muscle Gel at your desk and apply to any aches and pains up to 4 times a day.
Headaches and Migraines
These can creep up on out of nowhere so make sure you have some Lavender Pure Essential Oil in your desk draw. Warm 3 – 4 drops of oil on your finger tips and apply across your forehead, working into your temples in a circular motion. Lavender is a natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory, perfect to prevent those tension headaches escalating to far worse.
So what are you waiting for… turn your desk and your workplace into a sanctuary, your colleagues will thank you for it as will your mind and body.
